Help and solutions:

Everything you need to know Heat Pack Aqua Pack

What does the Aqua Pack heater consist of?

The Aqua Pack contains all-natural ingredients: iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal and vermiculite.

These components create a controlled oxidation reaction upon contact with air, producing gentle, constant heat without combustion.

After use, you can dispose of the contents in the compost or with regular household waste, as all the elements are biodegradable.

Never puncture the envelope and keep it out of reach of children and animals during use.

How do I properly use the Aqua Pack to protect my plants?

Open the airtight packaging just before sending or transporting. The heat will activate automatically within 15 to 30 minutes upon contact with oxygen.

Activation works through the oxidation of iron, which releases energy in the form of heat.

Wrap the heat pack in a sheet of newspaper and place it in the package, never in direct contact with the leaves or roots. Leave a minimum space of 5 to 10 cm.

Avoid placing it in a sealed plastic bag, which would block the oxygen supply and stop the reaction.

Why are tropical plants sensitive to cold during transport?

Tropical plants have evolved in environments where the temperature rarely drops below 15°C. Their metabolism is not adapted to the cold.

Even brief exposure to temperatures below 10°C causes cellular stress: the water in the cells can freeze and cause the walls to burst, resulting in irreversible brown spots.

The roots are particularly vulnerable because they cannot warm up through evaporation like the foliage.

Some species such as Calathea, Alocasia or Philodendron show damage at temperatures as low as 12°C, even for just a few hours.

My heater isn't heating up, what should I do?

If the Aqua Pack remains cold after 30 minutes, first check that it has been properly removed from its airtight packaging.

The reaction requires oxygen: a hand warmer placed in a sealed plastic bag or airtight container will not activate properly.

Shake it gently to distribute the components and leave it in the open air for a few minutes. If it remains inactive, the packaging may have been punctured before use, allowing the reaction to occur prematurely.

Always store your hand warmers in a cool, dry place until use.

Can I combine the Aqua Pack with other plant protection products?

Absolutely, combining it with other protective measures enhances the effectiveness of winter transport.

The crumpled newspaper around the pot creates insulating air pockets that retain the heat emitted by the Aqua Pack.

For more tender species, add a layer of bubble wrap around the outer cardboard box. Avoid plastic in direct contact with the plant, as this will promote condensation.

Upon receipt, place your plant near a light source and mist the foliage with asprayerto help him recover from the stress of the trip.

What is the difference between the Aqua Pack and a classic hot water bottle?

The Aqua Pack offers autonomous and gradual heat, unlike hot water bottles which cool down in a few hours.

A hot water bottle loses 50% of its heat in about 2 hours, while the Aqua Pack maintains a stable temperature for 40 to 72 hours thanks to its continuous chemical reaction.

Furthermore, the Aqua Pack is not at risk of leaking and excessively humidifying the package, which would cause mold on the roots.

Its flat and lightweight design fits easily into packages without adding significant weight to shipping costs.

The essentials regarding Heat Pack Aqua Pack

What is the Heat Pack Aqua Pack plant heater?

ThereHeat Pack Aqua Pack heaterThis is a chemically activated heating pad designed to protect sensitive plants during delivery or transport in the colder months. Placed inside the package, it maintains a stable temperature for 36 to 72 hours, depending on the model, protecting the roots and stems of tropical plants from winter shock. This thermal protection is essential for frost-sensitive species, particularly Hoya, Monstera, and Calathea, during shipments between November and March.

What is the purpose of the Heat Pack for your plants in transit?

THEHeat Pack Aqua PackIt activates upon contact with air as soon as the packaging is opened and diffuses a gentle, constant heat for several hours. It compensates for temperature drops during winter shipping and prevents leaves from yellowing or roots from suffering from prolonged cold. This thermal cushion protects your plants throughout the entire transit, from the warehouse to your door.

Which plants require a heat pack during winter transport?

  • Calathea and Marantaceae:protection against cold temperatures below 15 degrees
  • Tropical Monstera and Philodendron:heat retention during winter transit
  • Epiphytic orchids:preservation of roots and flowers during shipping
  • Hoya and succulent plants:Thermal protection for frost-sensitive species
  • Rare succulents and cacti:to avoid thermal shock during winter deliveries

Heat pack or insulating packaging alone: which protection should you choose for your plants?

Insulated packaging alone slows heat loss but doesn't compensate for prolonged exposure to cold during a 24- to 48-hour transit. The Aqua Pack Heat Pack actively generates heat for several dozen hours, providing far superior thermal protection compared to a simple cardboard box or bubble wrap. For any shipment of tropical plants in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, the Heat Pack is an essential safety measure during transit.
