What exactly does this repotting kit contain?

The kit includes all the essential tools to carry out your repotting in good conditions, as well as 1L of clay pebbles offered.

Expanded clay pebbles are essential for creating a drainage layer at the bottom of pots. They prevent roots from sitting in water and thus prevent root rot.

Place approximately 2 to 3 cm of marbles at the bottom of each pot before adding your substrate.

This kit does not contain substrate: choose the one suitable for your plant from our range.

How to use this kit for successful repotting?

Start by preparing your new pot by placing a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom for drainage.

This step is crucial because it allows excess water to drain freely, preventing root asphyxiation. Without drainage, even the best substrate can become problematic.

Carefully remove your plant from its old pot, gently loosen the roots if necessary using the tools provided, then place it in its new container. Fill with fresh potting mix without packing it down excessively.

Avoid repotting in the middle of summer or winter; spring is preferable.

How often should I repot my plants?

Most houseplants need repotting every 1 to 2 years, preferably in the spring.

Roots need space to develop and absorb nutrients. A depleted or overly compacted substrate limits growth and can weaken your plant.

Watch for signs: roots coming out of drainage holes, slowed growth, substrate that dries out too quickly or, on the contrary, remains waterlogged.

Some plants, like Hoya, prefer to be slightly cramped, so don't rush things.

What mistakes should be avoided when repotting?

The most common mistake is choosing a pot that is much too large. Excess substrate around the roots retains too much moisture and promotes rot.

The roots are unable to absorb all the available water, the substrate remains damp for too long, and problems accumulate.

Increase the pot size by a maximum of 2 to 3 cm in diameter. Always check that your pot has drainage holes. Never forget the layer of clay pebbles at the bottom.

Water moderately after repotting and wait a few days before resuming your usual routine.
